Memorial day makes me think of my family, those that have passed on and being with the ones you love. We spent time with the Madsen's at the cabin and enjoyed how beautiful and green it was with all of the water we have received this year and the lengthy spring. The most memorable event was when Grandpa Jack told everyone to gather around after we finished our game because he wanted to show us this trick. I went and got Caleb and Luke and everyone gathered around the table and Grandpa filled a pie tin with water and said he needed two hairs at least 6 inches long, some of Matt's cousins were pulling out hairs trying, blond ones were pulled then it was decided that the special trick needed dark hairs, so dark hairs were pulled. Grandpa took two of the hairs and made a cross with the hairs and told everyone to watch really close because the hairs would "fight" with each other. And SMACK!! He slapped his large work hand in the water and we all got our faces and clothes wet. Everyone was screeching and laughing, it was really funny. I was able to capture a few pictures of this, it was really unusual because Grandpa Jack doesn't often play practical jokes. The cabin is such a great place to build friendships with family. It rained during the night and even hailed the next day. When we returned from the cabin we went to Orem to put flowers on my Dad's and my sister Miriam's gravestones and we met Rob and Autum and Ann and Evan there also. As we visited, the rain was finishing sprinkling and in the sky appeared this giant double rainbow. We have had other family experiences with rainbows kind of being our sign from our loved ones. It was really special, Caleb also went to the car and drew pictures to put next to the flowers.

How funny! I can see Jack doing that! Mom said everyone was going to the cabin. I bet it was fun. How could it not be?

Hi you guys! Sounds like you had a lot of fun at the cabin - something we would love to do with you someday!
