Christmas and New Year's

We had a wonderful Christmas! After driving through a snow storm we made it a little late for Christmas Eve dinner at Matt's parents home, which was so delicious (prime rib and shrimp from Alaska). The Madsen's have this great tradition of toasting (with sprite of course) the person next to you saying "skoal" (a danish tradition) after each person has a turn. Our boys like to toast each other all year long. We watched a really neat slide show of pictures of the Savior and then watched old slides and family videos. Grandma Debra gave the boys a package that had a quilt that she made and a new pillow with popcorn, hot cocoa, books, and videos to stay cozy during the winter. They LOVED it. Christmas morning was fun and it was fun to watch the boys open their presents. We also went on a scanvenger hunt which Debra does every year, with the clues being from Christmas songs, it was awesome. Matt, Mike and Trev had a hard time finding one of the clues that was buried in the sand pile under some fresh snow! We went to Matt's Grandma Lois' for lunch and also did the skoal tradition there.

For New Year's we went to Wolf Creek up Ogden canyon. We went with Matt's family on Saturday and they left on Monday so my brother Spencer and his family came up and my sister Ann and friend that evening. We were able to spend some time skiing, watching movies, watching the ball drop and there were really nice fireworks right by the condo! Caleb had a good time staying up until midnight for the first time and celebrating with some of his cousins. It was definitely a great time.
