Santa

The kids were able to talk to Santa at our ward party, Cora however was not in the mood to be there so I took her home while Matt waited in line. At church on Sunday after the ward party, we walked by our dear ward Santa and Caleb takes me aside and whispers "That is Brother Lowe, not Santa." My reply was "Oh didn't you know that Santa has many special helpers and Brother Lowe is one of them." We have been trying really hard to help the kids see the true "Reason for the Season." I made a home made Christmas mailbox the boys get to pull a letter out for a special Christmas thing to do that day, some of them have been, watching a Christmas special, reading a specific Christmas book, decorating cookies, going sledding, etc...
To add a little more emphasis on the Savior, we have now added a basket near our tree with a special picture of little kids (from the Friend cover of Dec 08) that remind me of my own kids two boys and a girl looking with wonder at their Christmas tree. In the basket we write on red and green paper "Gifts for Jesus" which can include things we have done for someone else or things we are grateful for. It has been good to think of Him more and think about gifts that don't cost money.

Cora is now crawling like a pro and loves to take the ornaments off of the tree and suck on them. She also loves the shiny presents underneath.

Can't fool Caleb! What a great way to remember the true meaning of Christmas. I read an article today about how bring "Christ" back to Christmas is up to families starting in their homes.

Cora is so darn cute! Love her teeth.

Great shot of Cora - such a big smile! Hopefully she doesn't suck one of those ornaments down the hatch!
